East Kent Nostalgic Bus & Coach Trust was established in August 2012 to safeguard the former East Kent Road Car Company buses, coaches and artefacts for future generations to enjoy. The Trust is a charitable organisation in Kent dedicated to maintaining the values and traditions of bus preservation, ensuring this remains a focal point of local transport history in Kent, as part of our continuing national heritage
The Trust’s current collection of East Kent vehicles is acknowledged as being one of the largest and finest in Kent, with many rare examples. In addition, the Trust has an extensive collection of artefacts including: books, photographs, signage, uniforms, and other archive materials. Most of the collection exists through the outstanding generosity of individual donors.
The Trust focuses on the local people who played their part in this history, from the bus and coach drivers; the conductors and inspectors; the engineers; and the travel office staff. However, the Trust is not just about preserving buses. As a charity, we will advance the education of the public by establishing an operational museums, preserving and presenting the social and engineering heritage of East Kent buses, coaches and artefacts for inspiration; learning; and research for the public benefit.
