Heritage Lottery Fund
East Kent Nostalgic Bus & Coach Trust was awarded a £50,000 grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) for its project showcasing the history of the East Kent Road Car Company, and Trust promotions and programmes. This project sets out to preserve and protect this vital transport history, which would otherwise have been lost from future generations to enjoy.
The Trust is grateful to have secured HLF support, which makes our collection of buses, coaches and artefacts accessible to the public. The Trust will continue to seek volunteers, funding and sponsorship allowing us to invest in further innovative programmes, enhance community involvement, expand our collection, and deliver outstanding exhibitions.
Stuart McLeod, Head of HLF South East said: "These vehicles show us the changing face of transport in East Kent over several decades. It's thanks to National Lottery players that they will now be restored and brought back out on the roads, so that people can discover how previous generations got around town."
Outside of the Lottery funding, the Trust will continue to seek donations and investments from other sources, as well as continued investment from the Trustees funds.
